About Cultural Affairs Division

The Cultural Affairs Division was seen and conceived as a platform to further INTACH’s mandate of spreading heritage awareness from a wide panorama, ranging from material heritage, intangible heritage, architectural heritage, natural heritage and so on.

The division seeks to create awareness about heritage through regular cultural programmes – film screenings, talks, lectures and so on, organized on heritage issues, drawing experts from various tangible and intangible fields of heritage.

The World Heritage Day, which is on April 18th, is commemorated annually by the Pupul Jayakar Memorial Lecture, which is also brought out as a publication for outreach purposes. In addition, the World Heritage Week is celebrated by INTACH to further create awareness and interest in heritage related issues. A publication of INTACH talks/lecture series is brought out to further augment this initiative.
